Crew Classic - Women’s V8+

Beach Crew’s varsity women held consistency this past weekend at the annual San Diego Crew Classic Regatta as they competed for the Grace Rett Memorial Cup. On Saturday, the V8+ battled against UCI’s A squad as well as both A and B boats from UCSB and Clark University. LBSU finished the 2,000 meter sprint with a top three finish at 7:37.4.

Sunday morning the ladies earned a rematch versus the same crews, improving their time by four seconds- all despite extenuating external situations the crew faced off the water, namely illness. Two seat Morgan Purdy noted her teammates’ perseverance and grit, beaming at the camaraderie built from the races.
