BCA Fall Fundraising Campaign Begins
BCA Fall fundraising campaign begins!
The annual fall fundraising season for Beach Crew has begun!
The ’92 men’s crew, led by Greg Harrington, is leading the way by raising 18k to purchase a new “certified used” racing shell for the men’s team.
They are throwing down the challenge to the other decades of rowers and friends of Beach Crew to raise a similar amount to acquire a new racing shell for the women’s team.
Go to Beachcrew.org/give to donate. Donations of any amount are welcome and tax deductible.
For larger donations contact BCA President Ken Glenn for details.
Team Update
The teams have completed their fall recruiting effort with great results!
We have a large group of talented and motivated student/athletes as we move into the 2020 season.
The Men’s Team is led by veteran coach Mike Long supported by Ron Long, Mike McAndrews, and Dylan Widjaja. The men are making rapid progress.
Sadly, the women’s head coach, Victoria Draper, needed to step away from coaching due to the demands of her business.
The team has enlisted Olympic Rower Katrin Gleie to step into the role until a permanent coach can be selected.
Katrin rowed for the Danish National team and USC.
For the past decade she has coached master’s teams with the Long Beach Rowing Association as well as continuing to compete on the international level.
Katrin brings a wealth of rowing knowledge to team.
She will be supported by current assistant coach, and former LBSU rower, Megan DeVore.
The women have an outstanding group of recruits and look forward to a very successful season.
