Beach Crew Alumni Association Annual Meeting
NOMINATIONS FOR BCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Beach Crew Alumni Association (BCA) , a not-for-profit 501.c3 corporation, will host their annual meeting on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 1:00 PM , after the conclusion of the monthly BCA Saturday Row at the Long Beach State Boathouse: 5750 Boathouse Lane, Long Beach. Members of the BCA Board of Directors will review current projects underway for the team, review future alumni events, and will conduct the annual election of board members.
Pursuant to Section 5.03 of the bylaws, BCA's Advisory Board holding ex-officio status consisting of staff of the CSULB Division of Student Services, the CSULB 49er Foundation, and the non-coaching staff of Beach Crew, form the Election Committee and will conduct this year's annual election.
Pursuant to Section 5.01 , the BCA board shall consist of no more than 7 and no less than 5 voting Directors, including the Officers. All voting Directors must be Regular Members. Advisory Board members will be appointed by the President and shall serve as an ex-officio non-voting member of the BCA Board.
The Election Committee will accept nominations of candidates for at least thirty days (30) in advance of the annual meeting. Such nominations may be suggested by members of the BCA, the BCA Board of Directors, or upon the Election Committee's own notion. Any member in good standing may nominate himself/herself.
The BCA Board of Directors are elected for two-year terms. Each term will begin on the date of the BCA Annual Meeting immediately after the election results are certified. This year, two At-Large positions are up for election. The board will meet at-least quarterly (4) to plan social events for the alumni and assist with the team's fundraising efforts.
Membership with BCA is open to all rowers, coxswains, former coaches, and members of the former Long Beach Shell & Oar Society, who have rowed with the university through at least one season regardless of the level of competition. The annual membership fee is $25 or a greater amount that is desired. Application for membership can take place at the BCA Annual Meeting before the election.

The mission of the Beach Crew Alumni Association is to enhance the rowing program at California State University, Long Beach, provide scholarship opportunities to student athletes, and maintain the relationship with alumni to extend the involvement of the program.
The Beach Crew Alumni Association is open to all rowers, men and women, who have rowed with the university through at least one season regardless of the level of competition.
