The Men’s and Women’s crews had winter training throughout January. Practices took place both on land and in the water. The team participated in double workout days usually consisting of water time in the early morning and then a land workout later in the day. The Men’s Crew were able to take out an eight boat on most training days. The Women’s Crew focused mainly on small boats, rowing in doubles and singles. Land workouts centered on strength and cardio exercises like running and weights.
At the end of winter training and before the beginning of classes, the Men’s Crew gave their all during the first 2k erg test of the season. The Women’s team tested their leg strength for how many leg presses, bench presses, and steps up they could complete. Both crews worked hard this winter break and kept up with training in order to have a successful upcoming spring season.
