The Long Beach Women’s Crew were the only women’s eight to compete in the University of Southern California’s Head of the Harbor which is in the Port of Los Angeles. The University of California, Santa Barbara’s women’s eight scratched their entry so the Long Beach Women’s Crew rowed the course on the clock without any competitors. Their time for the roughly four-thousand-kilometer race was twenty-five minutes and fifty-one point one-two-five seconds. Our women’s eight were given medals for our participation.

Our Women’s crew also raced in fours in the Head of the Harbor against San Diego State University. Our women’s four finished in twenty-four minutes and forty-four point five six nine seconds, about a minute behind SDSU.

Acquiring medals through a scratch, while not ideal, will give the Long Beach Women’s Crew more motivation to improve their rowing and win races in the future.
