Summer Training

Some of the Men’s Crew have been able to row at the boathouse to keep up with training this summer. Recently, they were able to take out a four with Coach John O’Donnell to row steady state and work on technique. Returning rower, Gillan Corvera stated, “I’m honestly excited, I did not even have a spring season.  Most of my time is now going to go toward this. I missed the team.” Corvera had to leave after the fall season to complete the lifeguard academy and is currently a lifeguard in Hermosa Beach. The team is happy to have him back.

On the water, the crew worked on drills and focused on keeping the boat balanced at a steady state.  Before docking, they finished the practice with an increased rate sprint down the Marine Stadium. Corvera also stated that the practice went a lot better than he expected.
