Rowing in the Rain
By Marissa Long
This past storm brought some challenges for the Men’s Crew, but nothing they could not overcome. They were able to continue training by erging at the boathouse and using the student recreation and wellness center on campus when the weather was too poor for rowing.
When there was only some light rain, they took out a four for practice.
Novice Coxswain Emeala stated that they worked on distance per stroke and went around Naples Island three times.
For their weekend workout, they took advantage of the recreation center and did some cardio, air squats, pushups, jumping lunges, plank holds, and short-distance sprints.
Even with the constant rain, the Men’s Crew was able to get a good week of training in preparation for future races.
