Smorgasport Returns

 By Marissa Long

Long Beach State University’s Smorgasport was back on after being canceled previously because of rain. The event had club tables, food trucks, carnival games, rides, music, a pumpkin patch, and a main stage. The men’s crew reserved a table near the entrance of the event and set up four ergs for some friendly competition. The team taught volunteers the basics of rowing on an erg. Once the students were warmed up, they raced one hundred meters, with the winner receiving a free soda. There was a sign-up sheet for anyone who was interested in joining the crew after their race on the ergs. Overall, it helped the team get the exposure it needed to recruit more rowers.
