The team is back together! All of our returners have shown a lot of commitment in the first week back. Everyone seems to be ready to win this season.
Practices are a little different from last season. Not only the distance of our races and the intensity of our practices to get back in shape, but the coaching staff and our team size.
The men’s team has gotten plenty of novices in the first week alone, including a new coxswain, Megan Beretta.
The women’s team is expecting novices to show up on Sept. 8, but we have gotten a few people to come out, watch and even get in the boat to get the feel for it.
The excitement is in the air for the upcoming season. Everyone is working hard and showing a huge amount of motivation in just the first week. This is where it counts to set our foundation for a great season. I’m looking forward to all of the team events coming up that will help us bond and bring us closer together as a varsity team and in meeting new novices.
