The Beach Crew Alumni Association’s 2012 Membership Drive is underway. The BCA conducted an outreach of more than 350 alumni across the nation and out of the country. Recipients should have received their packets by December 23.

Read this message from Ken Glenn (’71), Membership Chairman:

The Beach Crew Alumni Association would like to invite all former rowers and coaches of California State University, Long Beach Crew to join the Beach Crew Alumni Association (BCA). If you did not receive the membership packet, containing a BCA Membership Decal and a postage paid remittance envelope, contact me with your mailing address. Membership is $25 and tax deductible by the CSULB Foundation. Your support is a big help in making Beach Crew a stronger program.

The mission of the Beach Crew Alumni Association is to enhance the rowing program at California State University, Long Beach, provide scholarship opportunities to student athletes, and maintain the relationship with alumni to extend the involvement of the program.

As Long Beach State goes through painful budget cuts and tuition hikes, it is more important than ever for former rowers to help minimize the impact of these cuts and maximize the involvement of CSULB students in this high quality crew program. In the short time the BCA has been in existence we have been able to raise enough funds for the purchase of new engines for the coaching launches, but more needs to be done, and your membership will help us to accomplish our goals. You gain the added benefit of being able to reconnect with old crew friends. As a member, the BCA will keep you informed of all upcoming events and provide you opportunities to get involved with Beach Crew.

If you would like to join immediately, follow the instructions on the BCA Membership Info page at BeachCrew.org. If you prefer to pay on line, you can go to the CSULB Foundation web site.
