Beach Crew Fights It Out at Opening Weekend

This year's Opening Weekend Regatta was hosted by UC Irvine in Newport Harbor. Seven universities were in attendance: USD, UCSD, UCI, UCSB, Mills College, Chapman Univ.
Next year, the event will be hosted by UC San Diego and is expected to be in Mission Bay.
Distance: 2,000
Conditions: All crews raced against an increasing
tide and with an increasing tail wind.
Comments: After breaking a rigger in the warm up CSULB MV8 raced with
only 7 guys.
